The third installment of the “Kids Play” series, was an educational program focused on Fluxus, an influential movement in the 1960’s known for its multi-media and multi-disciplinary work. The workshop and culminating concert were presented in partnership with Renaissance Arts Academy and facilitated by the Southland Ensemble.

SASSAS presented internationally renowned cellist Charles Curtis performing the world premiere of a new piece by composer Carolyn Chen and the Los Angeles premieres of works by Alison Knowles and Christian Wolff, with additional pieces by Morton Feldman and Tobias Hume.

SASSAS presented its fourth free public concert of commissioned new work for the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook. This year’s concert featured acclaimed composer and Fluxus artist Yoshi Wada, and his son, composer Tashi Wada, with John Allan and Megan Kenney and Corey Fogel.

SASSAS continued this ongoing open experimental jam session led by Joe Potts of LAFMS.
Presented in collaboration with the Center for the Arts Eagle Rock (CFAER), where the sessions are hosted.

First Saturday of the month at noon; 10 concerts presented in 2015
SASSAS continued this ongoing series for young children featuring emerging experimental musicians performing in the Children’s Theatre at the West Hollywood Library. 2015’s performers included: Cory Beers, Stephanie Cheng Smith, Anna Homler, Nicholas Deyoe, Alex Noice, Todd Lerew, Yvette Holzwarth, Morgan Lee Gerstmar, Marya Alford and Ron McBain, Logan Hone. Presented in partnership with the City of West Hollywood.
