This workshop, hosted by Tetuzi Akiyama, is the precursor to what would later become soundShoppe, SASSAS’s free unstructured sound workshop. It involved a listening activity and exercises with objects including a cup of water. The workshop was followed by a public concert.

Most of the early sound. workshops featured an artist who had performed as a part of the sound. concert series with the goal of facilitating relationships between these visiting performers and the local sound art community. soundShoppe began as a regular monthly series in 2011.
