Details

Yvette Holzwarth is a violinist, vocalist, and composer. Raised in Northern California, she began studying classical violin at three years old. Over time, her violin playing expanded to include a wide range of styles, such as American folk, jazz, classical Arabic, Hungarian fiddle music, and free improvisation. Her exploratory nature is evident in her own compositions.

In 2013, she released a collection of original songs called Open It Up. Recorded by cellist Chris Votek in his Echo Park studio, this EP explores the lush harmonies of layered vocals and violin. She is currently working on her next album while obtaining a Master’s in Performance and Composition at CalArts.
