soundSpark is a free, monthly new music series for young children featuring solo and duo performances by emerging artists. soundSpark takes place at 12pm on the first Saturday of every month. The October 2016 featured artist is Caspar Sonnet.

Caspar Sonnet is an experimental instrumentalist, singer-songwriter currently living in Los Angeles. Primarily self taught, his unusual song structures, instrumentation and haunting voice have been inspired by an array of eclectic sources, including: Native American mythology, Pre-war blues, Kabuki theatre, world music, Italian vocal composer Carlo Gesualdo, and minimalist composers John Cage & Morton Feldman. Sonnet continues his work which now includes voice, “prepared” acoustic lap-steel guitar & bowed percussion.
