Dilloway and Lescalleet, both highly accomplished in their own right, will also perform solo sets in addition to performing together as a duo. Dilloway, a tape/electronic composer, improviser, and founding member of Wolf Eyes, received widespread critical praise for his album Modern Jester. Pitchfork writes that the album “feels like a major statement.” It was named one of the Top 10 Outer Sound Albums of 2012 by NPR. Lescalleet, an electro-acoustic artist who merges noise, contemporary composition, and minimal electronics, released the album Songs About Nothing in 2012, which won critical acclaim from Pitchfork, NPR, The New York Times, Time Out New York, and was ranked number five on The Wire’s Top 50 Releases of 2012. Dilloway and Lescalleet’s performance as a duo continues a recent and fruitful collaboration between the pair that resulted in the highly-praised album Grapes and Snakes. Using purely analog synths and tape manipulation, the artists build a foggy psychoacoustic mass that lies between dynamic yet patiently treated tape music and industrial howl.

Aaron Dilloway is an improviser and composer who works with the manipulation of 8-Track tape loops in combination with voice, tape delays and various organic and electronic sound sources. A founding member of the industrial noise group Wolf Eyes (1998 – 2005), Dilloway resides in Oberlin, OH where he runs Hanson Records and Mailorder. Since 1994, Hanson has been releasing LPs, cassettes, and CDs from artists Wolf Eyes, Emeralds, The Haters, Kevin Drumm, Twig Harper, Andrew Wilkes-Krier, Darksmith, and more. His album Modern Jester (Hanson Records) received critical praise on Pitchfork and was named one of the Top 10 Outer Sound Albums of 2012 by NPR.

Jason Lescalleet makes music using a collection of vintage reel-to-reel tape recorders and simple electronics, running loops of crumpled tape between machines. His work explores a sound world that occupies a space between noise, contemporary composition, and minimal electronics. He blends layers of found sound, amplified silences, and artifacts of everyday noise, all transformed through various microphones and speakers. In 2012, he released Songs About Nothing (Erstwhile), which received critical acclaim by Pitchfork, NPR, The New York Times, Time Out New York, and was ranked number five on The Wire’s Top 50 Releases of 2012. Using decidedly primitive tactics and equipment, his work focuses on microscopic audio detail set awash in exaggerated and exploited site-specific acoustics. In addition to Dilloway, he has also collaborated with Graham Lambkin, Phill Niblock, Joe Colley, John Hudak, Greg Kelley, Rafael Toral, Thomas Ankersmit, Ron Lessard (as Due Process), and nmperign. He has released recordings on such labels as Erstwhile, RRR, Intransitive Recordings, Kye, Celebrate Psi-Phenomenon, Hanson Records, Chondritic Sound, and his own label, Glistening Examples. Jason Lescalleet has built a solid reputation for delivering a visceral live experience in his concert performances. He lives in Maine.

John Wiese is an artist and composer living in Los Angeles. He works primarily in recorded and performed sound with a focus on installation and multi-channel diffusions, as well as scoring for large ensembles. He has toured extensively throughout the world, covering the US, UK, Europe, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. He is also a founding member of the concrète grindcore band Sissy Spacek. His ongoing projects include LHD and Sissy Spacek. He has collaborated with GX Jupitter-Larsen, Sunn O))), Wolf Eyes, Merzbow, Evan Parker, Smegma, Kevin Drumm, Yellow Swans, Cattle Decapitation, No Age, C. Spencer Yeh (Burning Star Core), and Kommissar Hjuler und Frau. He recently performed in the 52nd Venice Biennale with artist Nico Vascellari. Wiese also was featured in SASSAS’s Tape Music Concert in 2012.
356 S. Mission Rd. is a new creative space started by artist Laura Owens. The warehouse once served as the artist’s studio. Twelve of her paintings are on exhibition in the space through June 2013. In addition to her show, Owens and partner Gavin Brown invited Wendy Yao to install the second edition of her independent art/fashion/book storeOoga Booga (dubbed Twooga Booga) in the front room. Together, they also host community events such as readings, performances, and a bi-weekly Scrabble Sunday.
